THINK Surgical developed the system for total knee replacements.
THINK Surgical's TMINI Miniature
Robotic System
In April 2023, FDA granted 501(k) clearance to the TMINI Miniature Robotic System, developed by THINK Surgical.
In a press release, THINK Surgical announced that orthopedic surgeon Dr. Alexander Sah, MD, performed a knee replacement surgery at a hospital associated with Fremont-based Washington Hospital Healthcare System.
This marks the first use of the system in a hospital system.
In a press release, THINK Surgical president and CEO Stuart Simpson said, “We are delighted to be partnering with Dr. Sah and Washington Hospital. This collaboration between a local technology company and a local hospital in Fremont will help bring an important new technology to patients in the community. Together we will make this technology accessible to more surgeons and patients across the United States and around the world."
The TMINI System uses a wireless robotic handpiece that surgeons can use alongside a CT based three-dimensional surgical plan.
